3 Excellent Homemade Housecleaning Products

People often spend so much money trying to find the best cleaning supplies. They want something effective and efficient, and they never seem to find what they want or need in the store! First of all, here's a hint: natural cleaning products are the most economical and do a better job than basic everyday commercial cleaning products.

And second of all, here are some simple homemade items you can use to clean your house.

• Baking Soda:

Baking soda works well to scrub dirty surfaces. It can also be used to get rid of unpleasant odors. Keep a box of baking soda in the freezer and refrigerator helps absorb any unusual odors. You can also use it in trash cans, smelly shoes, laundry, etc. It is truly one of the best housecleaning product ever made!

• Vinegar:

Vinegar can be used for several purposes. To make a good cleaning solution, combine equal quantities of vinegar and water. The best way is to use it in a spray bottle. Another quality of vinegar is that it is an excellent deodorizer and a disinfectant. Make sure you dilute the vinegar properly because in concentrated amounts it can damage tiled and marbled surfaces because of its acidic nature. Hence, it is a good idea to test the solution in inconspicuous areas before using it on the actual surface.

Vinegar can be used in the bathroom to clean the toilet, sink, counters, and bath-tub. It removes the soap crust and stains of your taps and leaves then shiny and new.

In the kitchen you can use it to clean the top of the stove, counter tops and floors.

Vinegar works as an excellent fabric softener and can clean your washing machine spotlessly.

• Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice is yet another effective homemade housecleaning product. It will bring back the shine to your old copper and brass pots and figurines and make them as good as new. You can mix some lemon juice with baking soda or vinegar to make cleaning pastes. Another way is to halve the lemon, add some baking soda and use it to wash stained surfaces and dishes. Again, it is recommended that you test it on unseen areas first. You can make a furniture polish by mixing lemon juice with double the amount of olive oil. Add a piece of lemon peel in the garbage disposal to freshen the kitchen and the drain. Orange peels also give the same results. Lemon juice is also helpful in cleaning stains on clothes as it has natural bleaching properties.

In addition to these three, other home items like rice, ketchup, and coffee powder, can also be used to clean your house! If you prefer commercial products, you can buy them at the store, but make sure you buy the best ones that do not contain toxic substances. If you find green cleaning products, they are the best as they contain the same natural ingredients you find in your homes. Commercial or homemade, it is essential to have good quality products that will clean your house spotlessly without damaging anything.
